Leveraging the NYC Kids RISE Save for College Program’s network of partners across District 30’s diverse communities, NYC Kids RISE is distributing emergency cash support to elementary school families in School District 30 in Queens, one of the epicenters of the COVID-19 epidemic. The $150 cash disaster relief gift cards can be used for nearly any expense including food, utilities, cleaning supplies, or internet access to facilitate remote learning.

The Save for College Program includes 10,000+ elementary school families across Astoria, Corona, East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, Long Island City, Sunnyside, and Woodside--one of the most diverse school districts in the country and one of the hardest-hit areas from this pandemic. NYC Kids RISE has so far distributed nearly $250,000 in emergency cash disaster relief gift cards to 1,500 of these families, but there are many more families in need of support.

Please consider making a contribution to support emergency cash relief. In this time of extreme and growing economic hardship, it is critical that we invest directly in families--including undocumented families and others who may be excluded from government support. We believe in communities coming together to support one another in all the ways that they can, and we are grateful for any support you can offer.

You can read more about the cash assistance that NYC Kids RISE has distributed to date here from QNS and here from El Diario NY.

NYC Kids RISE, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, manages the Save for College Program in partnership with the NYC Department of Education and the City of New York.

All contributions to NYC Kids RISE are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by applicable law. All information concerning your contribution, including all contact information, will be kept confidential in accordance with Network for Good's published Privacy Policy.
